5 Fun Workouts your Brain will Love
We all know the importance of physical exercise and the benefits it has on our bodies.
But did you know it is just as important to exercise our brain.
Brain Training can help improve our memory and reduce the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Training your brain will also help improve your attention span – a skill that we can all benefit from, particularly when the affects of technology have reduced our attention span significantly.
Another plus to brain training is that it can increase your reaction time and improve your mental agility – ie: your ability to think critically and problem solve efficiently.
So, how do we make our brains stronger than yesterday?
One of the easiest ways to do this is through brain training games.
There are plenty of games to help give your brain a good workout. Below are some of our favourites:
Wordle is a web-based word game published daily in The New York Times.
The object of the game is to guess the 5-letter word in 6 attempts.
After each guess, the colour of the tiles will change to show how close your guess is to the word.
What we love about this game: Wordle challenges you daily with a new word to guess.
Sometimes they are easy and sometimes they are a real challenge.
And sometimes you have the privilege of learning a whole new word and discovering its meaning.
Luminosity is a brain training app that allows you to exercise your brain every day.
You have access to a daily basic brain workout for free that includes the three different cognitive games.
Cost: Although the game is free, the best features of this app are only available to Premium members who pay a monthly or yearly subscription.
What we love about this game: Upon your first time of using the app, Luminosity will offer a training test to let you know where you stand compared to others your age and highlight areas you need to work on the most.
3. Memory Match
If your memory needs a good boost, Memory Match is your match made heaven.
This game is essentially a virtual memory matching card game with levels that allow you to earn stars and monitor your progress.
What we love about this game: You have the ability to follow the levels that have been mapped out for you, or you can create your own custom stages, which allows you to choose how many cards are on your screen and what is on your cards.
Elevate is a free brain training app which allows you to work through a personalised training program to improve your focus, cognitive skills and processing speed.
This app is intended to boost productivity, self-confidence, and learning ability and focuses on math, articulation, writing, reading, and listening.

The game provides you with personalised puzzles and games suited to your profile based on your brain skills.
